San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego Presents International Funding Mission

Governor Marcelo Orrego of Argentina’s San Juan Province reported on a diplomatic tour that included meetings in London, Boston and New York with leading international financial institutions. The mission aimed to showcase the province’s fiscal stability, low debt levels and diversified economy—highlighting mining, renewable energy, agro‑industry, tourism and the knowledge sector—to attract investors for a prospective provincial bond issuance. The proposed “Bono San Juan” would finance strategic infrastructure projects in roads, water and energy, enhancing the province’s competitiveness. Finance Minister Roberto Gutiérrez emphasized that the tour positioned San Juan as one of the country’s strongest sub‑national credits and noted a positive response from investors, with plans to move forward when market conditions are favorable.
