Pesaro: 20-year-old placed under house arrest after police chase

A 20-year-old man has been placed under house arrest in Pesaro following a police chase that ended in a crash on via Poerio. The individual was involved in a flight from law enforcement that included driving against traffic through several city streets.

During the arrest validation hearing, the judge confirmed the arrest for the flight from police, citing new security decree provisions, but declined to validate the arrest for car theft, noting the theft occurred the previous evening rather than during the immediate pursuit. A 17-year-old, who was reportedly driving the vehicle during the chase, will face separate proceedings in juvenile court.
