Pesaro hosts 79th Festival Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica

The 79th edition of the Festival Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica (GAD) is set to begin on October 15 at the Teatro Sperimentale in Pesaro. Organized by the Associazione Amici della Prosa, the event is one of Italy’s longest-running and most prestigious theatrical gatherings.

The festival will open with a discussion titled ‘Oltre la quarta parete. Il rapporto creativo tra pubblico e scena’ (Beyond the fourth wall: The creative relationship between audience and stage) at the Teatro Rossini. The session features Roberto Danese, a professor at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, and Ubu Award-winning director Fabio Condemi. Part of the GAD Festival Ragazzi program, the talk aims to provide young audiences with tools for a more conscious reading of live performance, exploring the evolution of theater from classical origins to contemporary forms.

On the evening of October 15, the Compagnia dell’Orso APS from Lonigo will perform Carlo Goldoni’s classic comedy ‘La Locandiera’ at the Teatro Sperimentale. Directed by Paolo Marchetto, the production focuses on the characters Mirandolina and the Cavaliere di Ripafratta.
