Pesaro noise barriers defaced by overnight vandalism
Noise barriers along the Interquartieri road in the Muraglia district of Pesaro were heavily defaced with graffiti, drawings, and writing overnight. The vandalism spans multiple points on both sides of the roadway, including sections that are difficult to reach.
Local officials and residents have expressed concern over the extent of the damage to the relatively new infrastructure. Francesco Ferri, a minority councilor for the Montegranaro-Muraglia district, described the incident as a “disaster” and called for the municipality to restore the area's decorum. He also urged citizens to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement to prevent further escalation of vandalism in the neighborhood.
The affected road is a significant thoroughfare, with Autostrade per l’Italia reporting approximately 15,000 vehicles passing through the area daily. The incident has raised questions regarding the cleaning and maintenance of the infrastructure, which was built as an accessory to the third lane of the A14 motorway.
