Pesaro promotes musical culture through local festivals and Asian tour
The city of Pesaro, a UNESCO City of Music, is highlighting its cultural presence through local festivals and international musical tours.
The second edition of the GPS – Good Pesaro Sound festival recently concluded at the Palla di Pomodoro. The event, which features music, DJ sets, and sports, aims to engage local youth and showcase regional talent. Mayor Andrea Biancani noted the festival's success and expressed intentions to expand the event by 2027 to make it a permanent fixture of the summer season.
Simultaneously, pianist and composer Mario Mariani is conducting an August tour across Asia to promote Pesaro's musical excellence. Invited by the Italian Cultural Institute in Seoul, Mariani will perform in South Korea, including a recital in Daegu and an immersive musical accompaniment to a silent film in Seoul. The tour continues in Japan, featuring performances in Kakegawa, a city twinned with Pesaro since 2016.
