Pesaro pushes for drinking water fountains and showers on public beaches

EveryOne Group has renewed its appeal to the municipality of Pesaro, asking it to urgently install potable water fountains and public showers on the city’s free‑access beaches. The organization points out that, despite earlier assurances from a local councilor, many stretches of the coastline still lack these basic facilities. Co‑president Roberto Malini argues that providing free drinking water and shower points is a simple measure that can protect vulnerable users – such as the elderly, young children, pregnant women, people with disabilities and those with chronic illnesses – from dehydration, heat‑stroke and other health risks during hot weather.

The group cites Articles 3 and 32 of the Italian Constitution and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as legal bases for demanding accessible public services. It urges the municipal administration to resume its commitment, develop a concrete plan and gradually equip the main free beaches with the requested infrastructure, which could benefit thousands of residents and visitors.
