Pesaro water infrastructure upgrades may increase utility costs

Pesaro Mayor Andrea Biancani has warned that residents may face higher utility bills due to necessary water infrastructure upgrades. Following four water pipe breaks in ten days, the city is looking to expand its water autonomy to mitigate future crises.

Proposed investments include doubling the capacity of the San Gaetano reservoir, a project costing 14.3 million euros, of which citizens would cover 4.3 million euros. Additionally, 800,000 euros are needed to increase the capacity of the San Francesco reservoir. Biancani noted that these costs will ultimately be reflected in consumer water bills.
