Pescanova SA cuts stake in Nueva Pescanova to 0.08%
The former parent company Pescanova SA has reduced its shareholding in the fishing group Nueva Pescanova from 0.21% to just 0.08%. The decline follows a €283 million capital increase approved at an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting, of which nearly €279 million was contributed by Abanca, the main shareholder of the new company.
Pescanova SA now holds about 2.4 million shares, valued at roughly €380 000 as of 30 November 2025. The subsidiary, created after the 2015 restructuring that followed a massive creditors' contest, is now a non‑operating holding whose only asset is this minority stake. Recent interim reports show the firm’s revenues rose 2.5% to €163 000, while losses widened to €70 000, up from €38 000 the previous year. Despite the reduced ownership, its board of four directors continues to receive remuneration, with total payments rising slightly in the first quarter of the current year.
