Pescapuerta acquires Congelados Llinares to expand distribution

Pescapuerta, the Vigo-based fishing company, has confirmed the acquisition of Congelados Llinares, a leading distributor of frozen products for the Horeca sector (hotels, restaurants, and catering) in Andalusia. Based in Algeciras, the acquisition provides Pescapuerta with state-of-the-art logistics centers in Algeciras and Malaga, strengthening its commercial presence in southern Spain.

The move complements the leadership already established by its subsidiary, Elmar, in northern and central Spain. Pescapuerta reported total sales of 334 million euros in 2025, a 3% increase from the previous year. With the inclusion of Congelados Llinares, the group projects revenues to reach 400 million euros in 2026.

Founded in the 1940s, Pescapuerta currently employs 1,700 people. The company’s growth is driven by its traditional fishing operations and its expanding distribution channel for the Horeca sector. Pescapuerta maintains low debt levels and exports over 45% of its sales to more than 70 countries.
