Pescara and Imola see violent street assaults in Italy

On the night of 21 June 2026, a 25‑year‑old man was beaten by a group of six or seven youths in Via Cavour near the waterfront in Pescara. The victim suffered facial trauma and multiple abrasions and was taken to hospital. Police arrived after witnesses called for help, but the attackers fled; an investigation is under way to identify the group.

In Imola, a daytime clash on Viale Amendola outside a bar involved three men who attacked each other with chains, sticks and glass bottles. The violence left several people injured and led to charges of aggravated assault. The three attackers are already known to police. Local councilor Simone Carapia, a member of Fratelli d’Italia, urged the immediate imposition of an urban Daspo order to keep the identified violent individuals off the streets, praising the swift response of the police, carabinieri and emergency services.
