Pescara announces cultural projects and theater restoration
The city of Pescara is undertaking significant cultural and infrastructural developments. A major restoration project for the historic Teatro D’Annunzio has been launched with a budget exceeding 4.8 million euros. Funded by ministerial, regional, and municipal resources alongside a loan from the European Investment Bank, the project aims for a partial reopening of 1,000 seats by June 2027, with full completion expected by summer 2028. The works include structural and seismic safety improvements, water infiltration management, and energy efficiency upgrades.
Additionally, two luminous sculptures by artist Marco Lodola have been inaugurated in Pescara. Dedicated to cultural figures Gabriele d’Annunzio and Ennio Flaiano, the three-meter-tall plexiglass installations were donated by the Arte Pentagono – Arte Focus gallery. The sculptures are located along a main city access route as part of a series of initiatives leading up to the centenary of Pescara.
