Pescara business group calls for increased security in nightlife areas
Confartigianato Pescara is calling for enhanced urban security measures in the city’s nightlife districts, specifically around Piazza Santa Caterina, following recent incidents of aggression. Fabrizio Vianale, the association's director, emphasized that law enforcement must maintain a continuous presence rather than reacting only to serious events to protect residents, visitors, and economic operators.
The association links urban safety to commercial vitality, arguing that commercial desertification makes urban areas more vulnerable. To combat this, Confartigianato supports a proposal by the Pescara Municipal Administration to amend urban planning regulations. This measure aims to restrict the conversion of commercial storefronts into private garages in designated commercial zones, preserving the social and urban functions provided by active businesses.
