Pescara businesses and administration clash over local regulations

The closure of Bistrot Muzii has reignited a debate in Pescara regarding the difficulties faced by commercial and artisanal businesses in the city center. Luciano Di Lorito, provincial director of the CNA, has called on the municipal administration to strengthen dialogue with entrepreneurs and evaluate support measures, such as local tax relief, to offset potential revenue losses.

Di Lorito highlighted concerns regarding regulations governing operating hours and the occupation of public land, suggesting that such rules should be part of a broader urban development strategy rather than purely restrictive measures.

Pescara Mayor Carlo Masci responded by stating that while the administration is open to dialogue, any solutions must respect the law, judicial rulings, and the rights of citizens to health and rest. Masci rejected claims that municipal decisions are causing business closures, describing such narratives as false and misleading.
