Pescara celebrates patron saint San Cetteo

The city of Pescara celebrates its patron saint, San Cetteo, on October 10. The festivities blend religious devotion with local history and community traditions.

Central to the celebration is the Cathedral of San Cetteo, where a solemn liturgy is held. A major highlight is the procession, during which the saint's statue is carried through the city center. The ceremony includes a symbolic connection to the local river, as the procession passes over the D’Annunzio and Risorgimento bridges, where blessings are bestowed upon the water and the city, accompanied by boats on the river.
