Pescara City Council approves restoration of Stele Dannunziana
The Pescara City Council has unanimously approved a resolution to fund the restoration and redevelopment of the Stele Dannunziana. The decision follows an amendment proposed by councilor Marco Presutti, which redirected funds originally intended for the purchase of the former Grand Hotel in via Orazio.
The 67-meter monument, a 1963 work by Vicentino Michetti, currently suffers from material detachment and structural fragility. The council has urged the Mayor and the Executive to allocate the liberated resources to the restoration project, with a goal to complete the work by 2026. If funding is not secured by then, the intervention must be included in the 2027-2029 public works program.
