Pescara dedicates square in front of Teatro Cordova to William Zola
The city of Pescara has officially dedicated the square in front of the Teatro Cordova to William Zola, a prominent Abruzzese actor, director, and cultural figure who passed away on September 5, 2025.
The dedication ceremony in Viale Bovio was attended by Mayor Carlo Masci, City Council President Marcello Antonelli, and various local officials, alongside friends and colleagues of the deceased. Zola was the artistic director of the Teatro Cordova and the founder of the Spoltore Ensemble, playing a significant role in both regional and national theater.
Mayor Masci noted the symbolic importance of the dedication, linking Zola’s cultural legacy with that of Gianni Cordova, the founder of Laad, noting that the location now represents a union of culture, social commitment, and solidarity. The City Council approved the naming decision unanimously.
