Pescara ex-Fea site renovation stalled, officials press for timeline

Regional councilor Antonio Di Marco has asked the Abruzzo regional government for a definitive schedule on the redevelopment of the former Fea site in Pescara, noting that the works have remained idle for two years despite a July 2024 regional council resolution. He wrote to President Marco Marsilio and relevant ministers, seeking reasons for the continued suspension and urging the temporary use of the area as a summer parking lot, as previously approved by the city council.

At a press conference, the local Democratic Party echoed the criticism, with Di Marco stating, “Solo annunci e zero fatti, la città non può aspettare oltre per questo spazio strategico.” Municipal councilor Marco Presutti and mayor Carlo Masci were also present, emphasizing the need for transparency on the site's condition, remediation procedures, and an immediate work schedule to restore the strategic urban quarter.

Both the regional and municipal representatives called for clear timetables and accountability to prevent further delay of a project seen as vital for Pescara’s tourism and cultural development.
