Pescara experiences flooding and road closures due to heavy rain
Heavy rainfall in Pescara has caused significant flooding and traffic disruptions across several areas of the city. While some roads, including Viale della Riviera, Via Caravaggio, and Strada Colle Marino, have gradually reopened, Via Spaventa remains closed between Via Chiarini and Via D’Avalos.
Local authorities, including the Civil Protection and local police, are monitoring the situation and managing debris and blocked drains. A yellow weather alert remains in effect, and officials have advised citizens to exercise extreme caution during travel.
Local political representatives have criticized the city's infrastructure, calling for better maintenance of drains, manholes, and pumping stations to prevent recurring emergencies during heavy rain events.
