Pescara fish market project risks losing funds as Legnano redevelopment stalls

In Pescara, Democratic Party councillors inspected the new wholesale fish market slated for the south dock of the port. They said the auction area is only 11 m wide instead of the planned 27 m, and that five warehouses, two cooling cells and a parking area are still missing. The regional audit sets a completion deadline of 15 February 2027; failure to meet it could cause the municipality and the Abruzzo region to lose ministerial Feamp funding.

In Legnano, centre‑right candidate Mario Almici condemned the municipal administration after the Milan Superintendency halted a large part of the Manifattura redevelopment. The authority demanded the proposed skyscrapers be reduced to four‑five storeys, the elimination of surface parking, and revisions to bike‑lane layouts. Opposition councillor Franco Brumana highlighted that the project had never been presented to the council, raising concerns over transparency and financial viability ahead of upcoming elections.
