Manfredonia hosts 2026 Italian Youth Double Sailing Championships

The 2026 Italian Youth Double Sailing Championships have commenced in Manfredonia. Organized by the Gargano Sailing Club under the delegation of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV), the event is part of the PUGLIA 2026 – European Region of Sport program.

Approximately 500 young sailors and 250 boats from across Italy are participating in the competition. The regatta features six different classes, including the 420, 29er, RS Feva, Nacra 15, Hobie Cat 16, and Hobie Dragoon. The event offers six Junior Italian titles and various category podiums, serving as a significant milestone for many young athletes beginning their competitive careers.

The opening ceremony included a parade of crews through the streets of Manfredonia, including Piazza del Popolo and Corso Manfredi, accompanied by the Banda Città di Manfredonia. Institutional representatives, including FIV President Francesco Ettorre and local authorities, attended the official proceedings.
