Pescara hosts UEAM Academy to train Ukrainian officials on EU reconstruction funds

The UEAM Academy – International Executive Programme for Ukrainian Municipalities is launching in Pescara, Italy, starting Monday, September 21, 2026. The five-day program is designed to provide Ukrainian local administrators with practical skills to access and manage European Union funds intended for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Organized by the Municipality of Pescara, the initiative involves university professors and aims to offer concrete training on European project design, application procedures, and financing opportunities. The program will combine theoretical instruction with practical exercises and institutional dialogue, drawing on Abruzzo's own experiences with reconstruction following past earthquakes.

Mayor Carlo Masci and official Luca Saraceni stated that this is not a one-time event but the first stage of a multi-month program involving various Ukrainian municipalities. The initiative also seeks to create professional collaboration opportunities for businesses and experts in the Abruzzo region to contribute to projects funded by EU resources for Ukraine's recovery.
