Pescara Mayor Carlo Masci Defends Stadium Rent Increase for Stadio Adriatico
Mayor Carlo Masci explained that the Stadio Adriatico "Giovanni Cornacchia" is a public asset owned by the municipality, not the private club Pescara Calcio. To offset the roughly €22,000 cost the city incurs for each match, the rent was raised from about €4,000 to €9,000 per Serie C game. Over the 19 regular‑season matches this amounts to more than €400,000, with additional expenses for cup and playoff fixtures. Masci highlighted recent public investments, including a new high‑definition screen and bench refurbishment costing over €200,000, and a €220,000 allocation to repair the partially closed north tribune, while noting that about €2 million will be needed for full structural work. He urged the club to increase community initiatives in return for the municipal support.
