Pescara Municipality to manage disabled toilet access at Stadio Adriatico

The Municipality of Pescara and the football club Pescara Calcio are in a dispute regarding the provision of accessible toilet facilities for disabled fans at the Stadio Adriatico–Giovanni Cornacchia.

Following a Coppa Italia match against Sambenedettese, the Municipality announced it would take direct responsibility for providing dedicated chemical toilets for the disabled, covering the costs for the entire championship. This decision follows a breakdown in communication where the city claims the club failed to provide services, while the club asserts it was unable to secure providers due to the timing of municipal authorizations during the Ferragosto holiday period.

According to Pescara Calcio, a site inspection revealed that disabled-access chemical toilets had not been repositioned since the end of the previous season. The club maintains it attempted to resolve the issue via official channels, but municipal responses arrived too late to secure suppliers. The Municipality, through Sports Councilor Patrizia Martelli, stated they acted in an emergency to install two mobile units to ensure at least one accessible toilet was available for the match, despite the logistical difficulties.
