Pescara organizes social initiatives and solidarity events

The city of Pescara is launching a week of social engagement and solidarity initiatives to mark World Food Day and Missionary Day. The program includes a conference at the De Cecco Institute titled “Innovare oggi per nutrire il domani” (Innovating today to feed tomorrow), which will address sustainable nutrition, environmental protection, and social justice. Speakers will discuss the impact of the climate crisis on food quality and global food distribution.

Additionally, a “Torneo della Solidarietà” (Solidarity Tournament) will be held at the Pala Giovanni Paolo II. This event aims to raise funds for the diocesan Caritas Pescara-Penne canteen, which provides approximately 150 lunches and 150 dinners daily to individuals in need. The tournament will feature teams from the Municipality of Pescara, the Court, and the “d’Annunzio” University.
