Pescara: Organs of 20-year-old Kevin Abbonizio donated to save lives
The organs of 20-year-old Kevin Abbonizio were donated to multiple hospitals following his death after a serious road accident on a provincial road between Orsogna and Arielli.
His family consented to the donation, a decision described by the Pescara ASL as a gesture of extraordinary human value made during a time of profound grief. The donation included his heart, which was sent to San Camillo Hospital in Rome, his liver to the Tor Vergata Policlinic in Rome, and his corneas to the Eye Bank of L'Aquila.
The medical team at Pescara Hospital, including specialists from the Resuscitation unit, coordinated the delicate process alongside transplant coordinators and psychological support to assist the family.
