Bari authorities evict illegal occupants linked to organized crime

Law enforcement authorities in Bari conducted a large-scale operation to evict occupants from two public housing units in the San Paolo and San Pio neighborhoods. The apartments, owned by the Municipality of Bari and Arca Puglia, were seized following urgent preventive seizure decrees issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bari.

Investigations by the Carabinieri revealed that the properties had been illegally occupied by individuals linked to local organized crime clans. The operation was a coordinated effort involving the State Police, Carabinieri, Firefighters, and Local Police, with support from municipal social services and the local health authority (ASL).

The evicted properties are being returned to the owners to be reassigned to eligible families according to existing priority rankings.
