Pescara to host 31st Regata dei Gonfaloni in September 2026
The 31st edition of the Regata dei Gonfaloni is scheduled to take place in Pescara on September 5 and 6, 2026. Organized by the Municipality of Pescara in collaboration with the association A. S. D. Il Maestrale, the event is part of the Festival Dannunziano calendar.
More than 200 participants are expected to compete, featuring 18 crews from various Italian maritime towns, including Ortona, Martinsicuro, Giulianova, Termoli, Passignano sul Trasimeno, San Benedetto del Tronto, Molfetta, Taranto, and Vasto. The competition will be held at the south pier of the canal port.
Mayor Carlo Masci noted the event's long history, mentioning it was the first initiative he promoted as tourism assessor in 1995. Fabrizio Verzulli, president of Il Maestrale, highlighted the national importance of the regatta, which is recognized as the first of its kind in Italy.
