Peñíscola fire causes injuries and destroys multiple vehicles
A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in an unpaved lot near the Peñismar area in Peñíscola, Castellón. The incident occurred in a field located between the Peñíscola-Benicarló road and a residential zone.
According to the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos de la Diputación de Castellón, the blaze resulted in several injuries. Eyewitnesses suggest the fire may have originated in a parked electric vehicle before spreading to other cars. While the total number of affected vehicles is still being determined, at least three automobiles have been confirmed as destroyed.
Municipal sources stated that the lot is not an official, signposted, or authorized parking area. Emergency response efforts included six firefighting units and aerial support consisting of one helicopter and two planes from the Generalitat.
