Peshawar faces service suspensions and exam delays during PTI march

Mobile and internet services were suspended across large parts of Peshawar on Thursday as a security precaution during a long march led by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) confirmed the suspension was carried out following directives from higher authorities and described the measure as temporary.

The political situation has disrupted local activities, leading several major private schools in Peshawar to close. While the Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) has directed institutions to remain open and warned of disciplinary action for unauthorized closures, many schools cited the prevailing political climate for their decision.

Additionally, the Peshawar Board has postponed matriculation supplementary examinations originally scheduled from October 7 to October 10. The board stated that new dates for these affected papers will be announced at a later time, though examinations scheduled after October 10 will proceed as planned.
