Peshawar police arrest woman for alleged acid and shooting attack
Police in Peshawar have arrested a woman, identified as Atiqa, for allegedly throwing acid and opening fire on a 26-year-old man following his refusal of her marriage proposal. The incident occurred in the Chamkani area.
The victim, Sadiqullah, reported that the suspect had been pressuring him to marry her and demanding Rs2.3 million. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the attack took place as the victim was leaving his house. Sadiqullah sustained burn injuries from the acid and a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. He was transported to a trauma center for treatment.
Atiqa also reportedly sustained burn injuries to her hands, feet, and other body parts during the incident and is currently receiving medical care in a hospital. Authorities stated they will seek her physical remand once she is discharged. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage, mobile phone evidence, and witness statements to determine the full circumstances of the attack and the shooting.
