Pest County prosecutor charges man for violent assault near Monor

A man faces charges for a violent assault near Monor, Hungary, following a dispute involving his partner's former partner. According to the Pest County Chief Prosecutor's Office, the victim went to a residence near Monor in May 2024 to visit a child. A dispute ensued when the woman's current partner refused entry, resulting in the victim striking the partner in the face.

The defendant and an accomplice allegedly pursued the victim in a vehicle, blocking his path with their car. The victim was reportedly forced from his vehicle and beaten with wooden sticks before being stabbed twice in the abdomen with a sharp object. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries, and the attackers fled the scene. The prosecutor's office is seeking a prison sentence and a ban on public affairs.
