Pet Carpet Film Festival returns to Rome in 2026

The IX edition of the Pet Carpet Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 27, 2026, at the Casa del Cinema in Rome. This international film festival focuses on the bond between humans and animals, including both pets and wildlife.

This year’s event pays tribute to Saint Francis of Assisi, marking the 800th anniversary of his passing. The festival will open with the national premiere of the short film ‘Senza di me’, produced by the National Federation of Italian Veterinary Orders (Fnovi), which highlights the essential role of veterinarians.

Artistic director Federica Rinaudo will lead the event alongside a unique trio of presenters: missionary Fra Antonio D’Errico, Francesco (a former homeless man accompanied by his dog Tommaso), and a young magician known as Super Ale. The festival aims to promote respect and love for all creatures through the medium of cinema.
