Pet neutering initiatives announced in Palmas and Blumenau

Two different pet neutering initiatives are scheduled for this Saturday in Brazil.

In Palmas, the municipal government is offering 200 free neutering slots for dogs and cats in the Lago Norte region as part of the Palmas Acolhe project. The service, managed by the Municipal Secretariat for the Protection and Welfare of Animals (Sebem), includes pre-operative exams, microchipping, and recovery supplies such as surgical clothing or collars. To participate, owners must register their pets via SinPatinhas and then schedule an appointment through the Clinicão website.

In Blumenau, Norte Shopping and the Instituto Bem Animal are hosting a neutering event at the shopping center's external parking lot. Unlike the Palmas initiative, this event requires an advance online registration and a fee starting at R$ 100 to cover procedural costs. The service is available for dogs and cats between four months and 10 years of age, provided they follow an eight-hour fast from food and water.
