Pet owners increasingly prioritize preventive veterinary care

Pet owners are increasingly shifting toward preventive healthcare for cats and dogs, moving away from seeking veterinary assistance only during emergencies. This trend emphasizes regular check-ups, proper nutrition, and early intervention to improve the quality of life for domestic animals.

Routine examinations are becoming essential for monitoring weight changes, identifying early signs of illness, and creating personalized care plans based on an animal's age and lifestyle. Modern veterinary services are expanding to include laboratory applications, nutritional counseling, and long-term health tracking.

Weight management remains a significant concern. Data from a 2025 survey by the Association for the Prevention of Pet Obesity (APOP) indicated that 43% of cat owners and 37% of dog owners identified their pets as being above their ideal weight. Additionally, dental health is a critical component of regular check-ups; a 2023 study by the Royal Veterinary College noted that 15.2% of cats receiving veterinary services in the UK were diagnosed with periodontal disease within a one-year period.
