Petalidi coastal erosion project receives green light

Officials from the Peloponnese Region, the Municipality of Messini, and the Kalamata Port Authority held an on-site meeting in Petalidi to coordinate the commencement of a major coastal erosion protection project.

The project, which has a budget of €5.45 million, was formalized following the signing of a contract on August 28. It is funded through the ‘Peloponnese 2021-2027’ program and aims to address severe coastal erosion in the Messinia region.

The meeting focused on organizing the construction site and ensuring seamless coordination between the contractor and local authorities to allow work to begin without delay.
