Petar Božić continues truck driving career at age 74

Petar Božić, a 74-year-old truck driver from Maglajani near Laktaši, continues to operate heavy vehicles despite being well past retirement age. Having passed his driving exam in 1970, Božić has spent over five decades behind the wheel, transporting materials such as gravel, sand, and asphalt.

Throughout his career, Božić has traveled extensively across Europe and the Middle East, including stints in Iran, Iraq, Austria, Germany, and Spain. He estimates he has driven approximately 5.5 million kilometers. Notably, he completed his journeys using only physical maps and atlases, without the aid of modern GPS or mobile phones.

His long history of safe driving earned him recognition from Mercedes, including a gold badge for reaching one million kilometers and a gold watch for reaching two million kilometers without accidents or mechanical failures.
