Petar Bočkaj discusses Dinamo Zagreb tenure and past legal incident
Footballer Petar Bočkaj has opened up about his career, including his move to Dinamo Zagreb and his time at Varaždin. During a podcast appearance, the 30-year-old addressed his 2019 incident in Osijek, where he drove a Mercedes while intoxicated with 1.86 per mille of alcohol in his blood, resulting in injuries to two employees and an 11-month suspended sentence.
Bočkaj also reflected on his transition from Osijek to Dinamo, noting that he did not move for a significantly higher salary and even waived some money. He recalled his notable free-kick goal against Šibenik and addressed rumors regarding a ‘smoking room’ at Dinamo. He described the influential players in that group, including Arijan Ademi, Bruno Petković, and Stefan Ristovski, as respected club legends who possessed significant status but denied they made decisions for other players.
