Petar Musa leads FC Dallas to 2-1 victory over Austin FC

Petar Musa scored his 14th goal of the season to lead FC Dallas to a 2-1 victory over Austin FC in the Copa Tejas derby. Musa’s decisive strike in the 73rd minute moved him into a tie for the league lead in goals, placing him in contention for the Golden Boot alongside players like Nicolas Fernández Mercau and Lionel Messi.

Dallas took an early lead in the first half through a header by defender Lalas Abubakar following a corner kick from Santiago Moreno. Austin FC responded in the 57th minute when 18-year-old homegrown player Ervin Torres scored his first career goal. However, Musa’s goal and the team's overall performance secured the win, lifting Dallas to fifth place in the Western Conference.

With this result, FC Dallas improves their record against Austin to 9-2-3 in the overall series. Austin FC continues to struggle under interim coach Davy Arnaud, with former Union coach Jim Curtain expected to take over following the conclusion of the season.
