Petare hosts opening of Venezuela Renace Sports Games

The inauguration of the Venezuela Renace Sports Games took place at the Leonardo Infante Educational Industrial Complex in the Campo Rico sector of Petare, Miranda. The ceremony gathered 124 children and adolescents from the host school and the Mariano Picón Salas Transitional Camp. State Secretary of Government Luis García outlined a three‑stage competition schedule: an inter‑camp phase (1–23 August), a municipal phase (26 August–13 September) and a regional phase (16–20 September). Officials including Deputy Carolys Pérez and Regional Sports Secretary Wilmer Rivas attended, noting that the program features seven disciplines – chess, dominoes, mini‑athletics, 3x3 basketball, 5‑player baseball, futsal and kickingball – across Mini, Infantil, Cadete and Libre age categories.

The event is part of 28 provisional facilities set up in Miranda to support families affected by the June 24 earthquakes, aiming to promote community participation and youth sport development.
