Pete Bonfield appointed as British Cycling Chief Executive

British Cycling has appointed Professor Pete Bonfield OBE as its new Chief Executive. Bonfield, the current Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Westminster, is scheduled to assume the role in mid-November.

Bonfield succeeds former chief executive Jon Dutton, following an interim leadership period managed by Lee Gibbons. The appointment follows a rigorous recruitment process. British Cycling Chair Chris Pilling described Bonfield as an accomplished, values-driven leader with a proven track record in managing complex organizations and building partnerships.

Bonfield brings both professional administrative experience and a background in competitive cycling to the position. He is a former British Cycling National Juvenile Circuit Race champion and has represented Great Britain at the Junior Worlds. His leadership experience includes serving as President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and as a Non-Executive Board Member within the UK Government.
