Pete Buttigieg campaigns for Pia Dandiya in Florida congressional race

Former US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg joined Democratic candidate Pia Dandiya at a canvassing launch in Plantation, Florida, to support her campaign for the 22nd Congressional District. The race is currently a tight contest ahead of the November 3 election.

A poll conducted by RedBox Research for the super PAC ‘A Fight Worth Having’ shows Dandiya at 46.3 per cent and Republican Casey Askar at 45.5 per cent, a margin within the 5.1 point error. While Dandiya leads among independent voters with 56.8 per cent support, Askar maintains a significant financial advantage, reporting nearly $1.9 million in cash on hand and having lent his campaign approximately $6.7 million.

The Cook Political Report has updated the race status from ‘Lean Republican’ to ‘Toss-up’. Outside spending is also high, with the No Going Back PAC reporting approximately $6.5 million in spending against Dandiya, while the House Majority PAC has spent $7.84 million against Askar.
