Ole Miss coach Pete Golding reflects on Nick Saban ahead of LSU game

Ahead of a high-stakes matchup between 8th-ranked Ole Miss and 7th-ranked LSU, Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding has reflected on the coaching influence of Nick Saban. Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Golding credited Saban with teaching him the importance of self-discipline and consistent accountability for everyone within a program, not just the players.

The upcoming game carries additional narrative weight as it marks the return of former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, who moved to LSU following a 2025 College Football Playoff run. Saban, who previously coached at both Alabama and LSU, expressed praise for Ole Miss players Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy but ultimately predicted an LSU victory, citing their defensive strength.

The matchup is a marquee event in the SEC schedule, occurring amidst heightened tensions in Oxford following Kiffin's departure.
