Pete Hegseth launches ‘Send Me Tour’ at Texas A&M
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited Texas A&M University in College Station as the first stop of his ‘Send Me Tour,’ an initiative aimed at connecting with veterans, ROTC cadets, and military members across the country.
During his appearance at a Texas A&M football game, Hegseth addressed the Corps of Cadets, using religious references from the Book of Isaiah to emphasize a spirit of service. He characterized the willingness of citizens to serve as essential to the survival of the republic. In his remarks, Hegseth listed historical adversaries, calling for a readiness to face future threats by stating, ‘Send me to fight Redcoats. Send me to fight communists. Send me to fight Islamists.’
Accompanying Hegseth during the visit were Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The Secretary’s trip to Texas also included a visit to the Veterans Resource Center and a stop at Saronic Technologies Inc., a commercial partner involved in the production of autonomous warships.
