Jennifer Hegseth, a former Fox News producer, has taken on an influential role at the Pentagon, acting as a de facto advisor, conducting interviews for potential staff, and managing the Defense Secretary’s public appearances. She was also recently appointed chair of The President’s Military Spouse Commission.
Former Pentagon spokesperson John Ullyot criticized the situation, stating that the administration “deserves better judgment” and calling the involvement of a spouse in sensitive duties “bonkers.” Other reports suggest her role includes providing personal oversight for the Secretary, including managing his personal conduct.
