Peter Brock legacy to be honored at 2026 Bathurst 1000
The 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 will feature extensive tributes to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the passing of Australian motorsport legend Peter Brock. Known as the ‘King of the Mountain’, Brock won the race a record nine times.
Planned celebrations at Mount Panorama include the ‘Brock Experience’, featuring ‘Peter’s Pitlane’ at the National Motor Racing Museum, which will display original race cars and historic footage. Additionally, a large-scale dome structure titled ‘Brocky’s Helmet’ will be installed in Church Street to allow fans to interact with career milestones. Supercars has also collaborated with artist David Bromley on bespoke artworks to honor his legacy.
In related news, a significant piece of racing history has surfaced for sale: a meticulously restored 1994 Holden VP Commodore. This specific vehicle was used by Brock during his return to the factory team and is noted for launching the career of driver Craig Lowndes. The car is currently listed at Young Timers Garage in Victoria, Australia.
