Peter Celentano sentenced to 41 months for illegal machine gun possession

Peter Celentano, 37, of Bergen, New York, has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for the illegal possession of machine guns. The sentencing follows a multi-agency investigation involving the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the New York State Police, and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

During searches of Celentano’s residence and other properties in Lyndonville and Medina, law enforcement seized over 200 firearms, 3D-printed pistol frames, ammunition reloading equipment, and two 3D-printed machine gun conversion devices. Investigators also recovered AR-style lower receivers and 3D-printed handguns.

The case involved the disposal of evidence; a friend of Celentano reportedly threw nine lower receivers—two of which were classified as machine guns due to a ‘third pin hole’—off the Beals Road Bridge into the Erie Canal. A police dive team successfully recovered a box containing 10 AR-style receivers, an unmarked handgun, and ammunition magazines from the canal.
