Peter Cullen's final Optimus Prime performance revealed in new short film

A new 12-minute animated short film, ‘Optimus Prime: Awakening’, has been released as a tribute to voice actor Peter Cullen, who passed away at age 85. Cullen, who first voiced the iconic Transformers leader in 1984, provides his final performance as the character in this production.

The short film is tied to the 40th anniversary of the 1986 film ‘The Transformers: The Movie’. Following select 4K re-releases of the original movie in theaters starting September 17, audiences will have the opportunity to view this new tribute.

An exclusive clip reveals a scene on a distant planet where Optimus Prime is pursued by enemies and encounters Bumblebee, who appears to be wearing a Decepticon insignia and attacks the Autobot leader, suggesting a significant plot twist.
