Peter Gabriel releases new single ‘Looking for the Happy’

Musician Peter Gabriel has released his new single, ‘Looking for the Happy (Bright-Side Mix)’, as part of a year-long project to release new music with every full moon. This release is part of his upcoming studio album, ‘o\i’.

The single is available in two versions: a ‘Bright-Side Mix’ mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent and a ‘Dark-Side Mix’ mixed by Chad Blake. Gabriel noted that while he often finds it easier to write sad songs, he wanted to challenge himself by creating a track with an irresistible groove intended to convey joy and celebration.

The song explores themes of finding happiness in the present, connecting with nature, and communicating with animals. The artwork for the single, titled ‘Closed Circuit II’, is a piece by artist Tishan Hsu. Gabriel described the album project as a reflection on a period of transformation driven by technologies such as AI, quantum computing, and brain-computer interfaces.
