Peter Lim visits Valencia and Nou Mestalla construction after seven‑year absence

Singapore businessman Peter Lim, the majority shareholder of Valencia CF, travelled to Valencia on 22 July 2026 after a seven‑year absence from the city. He met with club director general Javier Solís, football CEO Ron Gourlay, operations director Christian Schneider and finance director Inma Ibáñez, who was recovering from illness. The visit focused on planning the upcoming season under coach Carlos Corberán, discussing a needed investment in the transfer market for a right‑back and a centre‑back, and inspecting progress on the new Nou Mestalla stadium, whose completion is scheduled for the summer of 2027. Lim arrived from the World Cup where he had supported Spain, and his last appearance at Mestalla was a match against Real Madrid in December 2019. The trip was seen as a significant step toward more direct involvement after a period of remote management and fan protests demanding his departure.

The meeting also highlighted the club’s financial and sporting challenges, with Lim being urged to increase spending in the summer market to strengthen the squad and ensure the stadium project stays on track.
