Peter Marino unveils Tiffany silver collection in new book and exhibition

Architect Peter Marino and Phaidon Press have released a new book, ‘Tiffany Silver: The Peter Marino Collection’, documenting his five-decade-long pursuit of Tiffany & Co. silver pieces. The 136-page hardback volume features over 130 photographs and original designs from the Tiffany archives, exploring the history of American design and silversmithing.

A concurrent exhibition at the Peter Marino Art Foundation in Southampton showcases more than 100 Tiffany mixed-metal works through October 3. The collection includes nature-motif and Japonesque pieces featuring flowers, butterflies, and fish, often utilizing gold and copper accents. Marino, who began collecting under the guidance of curator Sam Wagstaff, focuses on pieces from the Aesthetic Movement and objects that maintain artistic value regardless of shifting fashion trends.
